Pomelo is native to Malaysia and Southeast Asia, where it has various beneficial effects.

Also, because it contains high levels of pectin, it has a vasodilating effect, which is beneficial for people with blood pressure problems. In addition, pomelo reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol.

In Southeast Asia, its leaves, flowers and bark are also used to make decoctions for cholera, epilepsy, swelling and eczema. It is low in energy and is recommended for dieters.

Its high vitamin C content restores blood vessel elasticity and aids digestion.

Its fibre promotes healthy digestion, bowel movements and helps prevent the development of haemorrhoids. In addition, thanks to its high vitamin C content, it can also help to eliminate bleeding gums caused by vitamin deficiency. It strengthens the gums and protects the integrity of the teeth to some extent.

As the fruit is imported from far away in Hungary, it should be thoroughly cleaned before consumption. It is best eaten raw to enjoy the flavour of the pomelo. The skin is thick but can be easily peeled off.
