Turmeric with milk (also known as “golden milk”) is a traditional Indian drink in which turmeric is the main ingredient. Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a rooted plant that has many beneficial effects on the body.

About the golden milk:

Traditional Use: It is used in the ancient practice of Ayurveda in India as an anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting drink. Turmeric is mixed with milk or other plant milks (e.g. almond, coconut) and often flavoured with spices such as ginger, cinnamon or black pepper.

Beneficial effects: turmeric has strong anti-inflammatory properties, mainly due to the active ingredient curcumin. Regular consumption of golden milk may help to relieve the symptoms of arthritis, such as arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. It can also help treat digestive problems such as bloating and heartburn.

Antioxidant properties: turmeric is extremely rich in antioxidants, which can help fight free radicals in the body and protect cells against oxidative stress.

Immune system support: turmeric, when consumed with milk, can boost the immune system, helping the body to fight infections and diseases.
